Building the Future of Data Teams

Plotono was born from a simple frustration: the modern data stack is broken into too many pieces. We set out to bring pipelines, transformations, and business intelligence back together in one platform.

Our Mission

The modern data stack promised simplicity but delivered fragmentation. Getting a single dashboard in front of a decision-maker can mean stitching together seven or more tools: an ingestion service, a transformation layer, an orchestrator, a warehouse, a BI tool, a catalog, and an access-control system. Each tool comes with its own interface, its own query dialect, and its own set of credentials to manage. The result is slower insights, higher costs, and a growing gap between the people who build data pipelines and the people who consume them.

Plotono exists to close that gap. We are building a single platform where data engineers design pipelines visually, analysts write SQL transformations, and stakeholders explore dashboards, all without leaving one environment. No file exports, no broken handoffs, no context switching between disconnected tools.

At its core, Plotono combines a visual pipeline builder, a custom SQL compiler with twelve query optimizers, over twenty chart types for dashboards, multi-tenant workspaces with role-based access control, and a federated execution engine that distributes queries across workers. Every pipeline compiles down to standard SQL targeting DuckDB or BigQuery, so there is no proprietary lock-in and no black-box transformations.

What We Believe

Unified by Design

Everything from data ingestion to dashboard delivery lives in one platform. When pipelines, transformations, and visualizations share the same environment, teams move faster and spend less time wrestling with integration glue.

SQL-First, Visual-Always

Full SQL power for engineers who want it, and an intuitive visual builder for everyone else. Switch freely between drag-and-drop pipeline editing, pipe syntax, and raw SQL, whichever fits your workflow best.

Secure by Default

Multi-tenant isolation, role-based access control with admin, editor, and guest roles, tag-based permissions, and OPA-powered authorization policies are built in from day one, not bolted on as an afterthought.

Open Standards

Standard SQL, DuckDB, and BigQuery, no proprietary query language and no vendor lock-in. Your data and your logic stay portable, and you can inspect the generated SQL at every step.
